Where to start with your own redesign

1. Be honest about how you actually use the room. A kitchen for a family who cooks every night needs different things to one used mainly for entertaining.
2. Set your budget before you start browsing for ideas. It’s far easier to make good decisions once you know your limits.
3. Think about storage early, not last. The calmest, most uncluttered rooms are almost always the ones where storage was planned in from the start.
4. Ask for advice, and expect an honest answer. A good designer will tell you what will and won’t work in your space, not just what you want to hear.
